Short-term Trauma Focused Therapy For The Homeless

Dr. Larry Beall, our director, and the director of the 4th Street Clinic, Allan Ainsworth, PhD combined efforts to begin a new type of mental health treatment regime for homeless clients. In mid 2006 we began a trauma clinic in conjunction with the already developed medical and social work treatment facility in Salt Lake City. The goal of the treatment regime is to decrease the negative effects of psychological trauma with the homeless population. Some of these negative effects are manifested as posttraumatic stress, depression, anxiety disorders, etc. as well as dual diagnoses.
The results of the treatment regime has been making headway and we hope to use the model on a national level.
We enjoy working with the 4th Street Clinic and with the clients we meet.
